This is the site’s 2026 start-here map, not a fake numbered ranking. There is no “best flashlight” in the abstract. There is a job: pocket, camp, duty tube, outage, work light, UV. Pick the job, then the light. The picks below are already sourced on this site. Follow the hub for the full write-up.
This is a spec-based first look, not a hands-on test. We have not had these samples on the desk. Numbers come from the manufacturer or a named listing. Today is Wednesday, August 26, 2026. What this page is (and is not)
- Jobs, not a top-ten list. “If you want X, start here.” A 3,200-lumen work hybrid is a terrible keychain. A 10 g marker is a terrible tent lamp.
- Manufacturer numbers, cited. Turbo is often a burst. Shop the mid modes and the cell you can actually replace.
- No invented ASINs, no lab claims. Maglite ML300LX 2D is the only Amazon ASIN we have verified (B01189CFAE). Everything else is a search — confirm the model in the title.
- Nostalgia is labeled nostalgia. A stock SureFire 6P was 65 or 120 lumens. It is not a 2026 pick.

If you only buy one 2026 light and the job is “work, inspect, and still have a real throw beam,” this is the one already on this site. Wurkkos launched the HD02 PRO on August 5, 2026 at $89.99 and still lists it on the official product page as of this writing. Manufacturer claims: 3,200-lumen Luminus SFT70.2 spotlight, 330 m throw, 27,175 cd, dual-axis high-CRI (90) wings 5–600 lumens with 3000–6000 K, 660 nm red, 365 nm UV (130 mW low / 520 mW high), 520 nm green beam, removable 21700 5,000 mAh, up to 140 hours at 10 lumens on low spotlight. It is a work light that camps, not a tent lantern — no 360° glow, no hanging globe. Camp context: Best Camping Flashlights. Rechargeable / spare-cell context: Best Rechargeable Flashlights. The 365 nm channel is a secondary, not a dedicated inspection tube: Best UV Flashlights. Spec-based first look only.
Weaknesses: five emitters is extra UI to learn. IPX6 is rain, not a dunk. Amazon still mixes the older HD02 with the PRO. Do not buy a listing that only says HD02 if you wanted the PRO. We do not have a verified HD02 PRO ASIN.

If you want budget: Wurkkos FC11C
Street price, not a fake 10,000-lumen listing. Wurkkos still sells the FC11C on the official page as of this writing at $21.99 (was $39.98). Full write-up: Wurkkos FC11C review. Wurkkos FC11C user-manual ANSI/FL1 table (519A, 3000 mAh 18650): Moon 1 lm / 500 h; Mid 250 lm / 7.5 h; High 600 lm / 2.7 h; Turbo 1,200 lm / 2.5 h / 155 m / 6,008 cd. High CRI is the reason to buy this over a cooler FET tube. 1lumen’s August 2024 review (named source, not our test) measured about 975 lm at 30 s against the 1,200 lm claim. Full budget lane: Best Budget Flashlights. Pocket-carry overlap: Best EDC Flashlights.
Weaknesses: 18650 only. If you wanted a gas-station AA tube, this is not it. 1,200 lumens of 519A is a floody general-purpose beam, not a searchlight. One-year-class Wurkkos warranty. We are not substituting an older FC11 or inventing an Amazon ASIN.

If you want EDC: keychain, 14500 right-angle, or 18650 tube
EDC means it lives on you. If you need two hands to hold it, it is not EDC. Full pocket map: Best EDC Flashlights.
Keychain: Wuben still lists the E2 Pulse at $19.99 (shows $29.99 as the later price). Wuben’s FL1 table: main High 150–100 lm, 1 min then 30 min; Med 50 lm / 1 h; Low 1 lm / 7 h; 26 m / 169 cd; built-in 120 mAh, USB-C, IP66, 10.7 g. (Source: same Wuben page.) 150 lumens that lasts a minute is a keychain burst. Built-in cell — when it dies you charge USB-C or you are done.
14500 right-angle: Wurkkos still lists the HD10 (title currently says Clearance; it is not a dead listing) at $23.99. 3× 90 CRI CSP, 1,200 lm / 129 m, 46 g, Anduril 2.0, IP68, 14500 only — not dual-fuel AA. (Source: Wurkkos HD10.) 1lumen’s April 2025 review (named source, not our test) measured 850 lm at 30 s against the 1,200 lm claim.
Premium 18650: Acebeam still lists the EC20 at $59.90. HL4X up to 2,800 lm / 310 m; SFT-25R up to 2,500 lm / 370 m; 519A up to 1,900 lm / 270 m. Turbo on the HL4X chart is 2,800~650~25 lm, 35 s + 2 h 30 min + 1 h. USB-C is on the included cell, not the body. IP68. (Source: acebeam.com/ec20.)
Weaknesses: do not buy a Maglite 2D or a 21700 work brick if you wanted jeans-pocket carry. Amazon did not have a clean E2 Pulse ASIN we could verify; do not grab a Wuben E7 or E8. Confirm HD10, not HD12. Confirm EC20, not some other Acebeam E-series.
If you want camping: Maglite 2D + headlamp + lantern
Camping is three jobs. A hanging lantern is a poor trail light. A 3,000-lumen turbo tube that steps down in 30 seconds is a poor tent lamp. Full kit write-up: Best Camping Flashlights.
Car-kit / D-cell: Maglite still lists the ML300LX 2D (from $44.99 as of this writing). Spec sheet: 487 lumens, 323 m, 26,139 cd, IPX4, 1 m drop, two alkaline D cells, Eco 260 hours, High 6 h 30 m, Low 101 h, 20 oz with batteries. (Source: Maglite, Specifications — ML300LX 2D.) 487 lumens is not a 2026 flex. 26,139 cd in a large reflector is a real trail beam. Heavy. Splash-only. Not a tent lantern. Hands-free: Acebeam H18 (below, and on Best Headlamps). Tent / table: Fenix still lists the CL26R Pro on Fenix Lighting at $79.95. Max 650 lumens when you combine 360° High and Down 3; 360° High alone is 500 lumens; max runtime 408 hours (that number lives at a few lumens on Down 1); included 21700; USB-C in and USB-A out; IP66 on the Fenix Store table. If you want tactical / duty: Fenix PD36R Pro
“Tactical” on a box usually means a black tube and a strobe. The useful idea is a duty-style 21700 you can run one-handed, with enough candela to ID something down a driveway. Fenix Lighting still lists the PD36R Pro at $119.95 as of this writing; the official U.S. Fenix Store has the same price and still shows it in stock (low stock when we checked). Luminus SFT70, 2,800 lumens turbo, 380 m / 1,247 ft, max runtime 42 hours (Eco 30 lm), dual tail switches, included 5,000 mAh 21700, USB-C, IP68 to 2 m, 145.8 mm, 169 g with battery. Read turbo. Fenix’s own FAQ: turbo runtime is ANSI/PLATO FL1 total runtime including thermal stepdown, not 2,800 lumens for 3.5 hours. Turbo peak 36,600 cd. Turbo is blocked at roughly 50% battery. Weaknesses: no AA or D-cell fallback. You cannot use it as a light while it charges — pack a spare 21700. Dual tail switches take a minute to learn. We are not substituting the older PD36R or the newer PD36R ACE. No verified Amazon ASIN.

If you want a headlamp: Acebeam H18
A handheld is great until you need both hands. Acebeam announced the H18 on August 17, 2026 and still lists it on the official product page as of this writing at $109.90. Acebeam’s own table: four white LEDs, either 6500K cool white up to 4,000 lumens / 162 m / 6,561 cd or 5000K high-CRI (519A, CRI 90) up to 2,700 lumens / 140 m / 4,900 cd, plus a red channel up to 70 lumens. IP68 (2 m / 30 min), 2 m drop, included 21700 6,400 mAh (25 A), USB-C on the body and on the cell. Body 70 g; full kit 190.6 g.
Read the turbo line. On the 6500K chart, Turbo is 4,000 ~ 700 lumens, 30 s ~ 3 h 40 min. High is 1,400 ~ 700 after two minutes. Ultra-low is 7 lumens for 280 hours. That is a flood (peak 6,561 cd), not a trail search beam. If you cook or sort gear by color, get the 5000K version and accept 2,700 lm turbo.
Weaknesses: the headline lumen number is a burst. Brand-new as of mid-August 2026, so Amazon may not have a clean listing yet — we are not inventing an ASIN. 190 g on your forehead is the price of that cell.

If you want rechargeable: start at the hub
Rechargeable in 2026 almost always means USB-C and a 18650 or 21700 you can actually swap. A sealed brick with no spare is a flashlight-shaped paperweight the moment the pack hits empty. The dedicated map is Best Rechargeable Flashlights. The lights already on that page:
- HD02 PRO — 21700 work hybrid, USB-C on the body, removable 5,000 mAh cell.
- PD36R Pro — 21700 duty tube, USB-C on the body, unavailable while charging.
- FC11C — 18650 EDC tube, USB-C on the body, ~$22.
- ThruNite Archer 2A C — USB-C on an odd-size 141000 cell, plus 2×AA backup.
The Maglite 2D is the contrast row on that hub: alkaline D, no USB, Eco 260 hours. That is a feature if the job is “this sits in the car.”
If you want a power outage / dual-fuel light: ThruNite Archer 2A C
When the grid is down, a USB-C flashlight is only as good as the last charge. Grocery-store AAs still exist. Full outage argument: Best Flashlight for a Power Outage. ThruNite still lists the Archer 2A C at $39.99. SKU: ARCHER 2A C.
ThruNite: with the included rechargeable, max 1,018 lumens, beam 167 m, peak 7,000 cd. Drop in 2×AA (not included) and ThruNite rates it 500 lumens / 93 m. That AA number is the outage number. ANSI/NEMA FL1 on that same page (1600 mAh rechargeable): High 1,018 ~ 519 lumens, 30 s + 128 min; Low 20 lm / 37 h; Firefly 0.3 lm / 27 days. IPX-8 (2 m). Working voltage 0.9–4.2 V. Weaknesses: High is a 30-second burst, then 519 lumens. You are fishing a proprietary-length cell out of the tube to charge. AAs are the backup, not a 1,018-lumen mode. Do not mix this up with the AA-only Archer 2A V3. No verified Amazon ASIN.
If you want UV: start at the hub (HD02 PRO is a secondary, not the dedicated tube)
A UV flashlight is a 365 nm inspection tool, not a brighter Maglite. Pet urine, dye leaks, fluorescent rocks. Cheap 395 nm “blacklights” dump purple haze on the room. Dedicated 365 nm tubes (Sofirn SF16, Convoy S2+ 365 nm, Fenix SW05R-UV) live on Best UV Flashlights.
The HD02 PRO’s 365 nm channel (130 mW low / 520 mW high, Wurkkos) is a work-light extra, not a filtered inspection tube. Fine for a quick stain check if you already own the hybrid. Do not buy the HD02 PRO as your only UV light if the job is carpet, AC dye, or minerals.
Eye safety: do not stare into a 365 nm beam. UV is often invisible, so people overexpose without noticing. Wear UV-rated glasses for long sessions. This is not a tanning lamp and it is not a medical device.
Nostalgia, labeled: Maglite 2D era and SureFire 6P era
The modern Maglite ML300LX 2D is the descendant of the 1990s glove-box 2D. It still makes sense as a car-kit club. It does not make sense as a 2026 pocket light. Context: Best light from the ’90s.
A stock incandescent SureFire 6P was 65 lumens (P60) or 120 lumens (P61). It mattered for build and CR123 logistics, not 2026 lumen charts. The original 6P is discontinued. The current 6P-family light you can actually buy new is the SureFire 6PX Pro (600 lm high / 15 lm low, SureFire) on the tactical hub. Do not treat a stock 6P as a 2026 pick. Context: Best light from the 2000s.
A simple 2026 kit
- One light that matches the job you actually have — HD02 PRO if that job is work + throw; FC11C if the budget is ~$22 and you wanted high-CRI pocket; PD36R Pro if you wanted a duty 21700.
- One dual-fuel or D-cell backup if outages are real — Archer 2A C in the house, Maglite 2D in the car.
- A headlamp if you need both hands — H18, or the rest of Best Headlamps.
- Do not make a sealed 10 g keychain your only light, and do not put a Maglite 2D in a jeans pocket.
