Under $30 here is street price from a named maker, not a fake 10,000-lumen Amazon tile. As of this writing (August 26, 2026) that means a real emitter, a body the maker will put an ANSI/FL1 table on, USB-C or a cell you can actually buy, and a list price at or under about $30 — or a clear “was $X, now $Y under 30.” The overlapping Best Budget Flashlights hub goes a bit above $30 (the Sofirn HS21 headlamp lives there). This page does not.
This is a spec-based first look, not a hands-on test. Numbers below come from the manufacturer or a named listing. For pocket carry see Best EDC Flashlights. For cell sizes see 18650 vs 21700 vs AA. For lumens vs candela see Lumens Explained. For the wider 2026 map see Best Flashlights 2026.
What “under $30” actually has to do
- A real brand and a real table. If they will not print lumens, candela, throw, and runtime on the same chart, treat the box number as advertising. See Lumens Explained.
- Listed at or under ~$30 on the maker’s page. Clearance that is still sold counts. A $38 headlamp, a D-cell Maglite, a 21700 duty tube, and a $110 Acebeam do not — those jobs live on other hubs.
- A cell you can replace or a USB-C port you can find. Mystery USB-micro bricks die. 18650, 14500, or a built-in cell with USB-C is the 2026 floor. More on that: Best Rechargeable Flashlights and How to Choose a Flashlight.
- Honest turbo. 1,200 lumens on a $22 light is a burst. Shop the mid modes and the IP rating, not the headline.
The picks, with the catch on each
| Job | Light | Maker price | Honest weakness |
|---|---|---|---|
| 18650 EDC tube | Wurkkos FC11C | $21.99 (was $39.98) on wurkkos.com | Turbo steps down after 90 s. 18650 only — not AA. Simple UI, not Anduril. |
| 14500 right-angle / pocket | Wurkkos HD10 | $23.99 (was $49.97) clearance, still sold | 14500 only — not dual-fuel AA. Anduril is a learning curve. |
| Keychain / marker | Wuben E2 Pulse | $19.99 (Wuben shows $29.99 later) | Built-in 120 mAh cell. 150 lm lasts about a minute. Not a trail light. |
| Wearable / clip coin | Sofirn SE1 PRO | $23.99 Green / Dark Cherry on the U.S. store | Built-in 140 mAh. IPX5 is splash. White MAO is $32.99 — not this page. |
18650 EDC tube: Wurkkos FC11C

The cheap tube you can still source under $30: Wurkkos still sells the FC11C on the official page as of this writing at $21.99 (was $39.98). This is an 18650 side-switch light with USB-C, not a 14500/AA dual-fuel and not a keychain. We are not substituting an older FC11 or inventing an Amazon ASIN. Full write-up: Wurkkos FC11C review. Also on Best Budget and Best EDC. We have not had a sample on the desk.
Wurkkos product page: 1× Nichia 519A 4000K or 5000K, 95 CRI, orange-peel reflector, buck driver, 1,200 lumens / 155 m, 1× 18650, USB-C, magnetic tail, clip, 116.23 mm × 24 mm, 65 ±1 g without battery (~110 g with cell), aerospace 6061, IPX-8, 1 m impact, four-click lockout, turbo steps down after 90 seconds. (Source: Wurkkos FC11C.)
Wurkkos FC11C user-manual ANSI/FL1 table (519A, 3000 mAh 18650): Moon 1 lm / 500 h / 3 m; Low 50 lm / 39 h / 29 m; Mid 250 lm / 7.5 h / 73 m; High 600 lm / 2.7 h / 112 m; Turbo 1,200 lm / 2.5 h / 155 m / 6,008 cd. That 2.5 h turbo figure includes the 90-second stepdown — it is not 1,200 lm for two and a half hours. IPX-8 (2 m). (Source: Wurkkos FC11(C) user manual.)
High CRI is the reason to buy this over a cooler, cheaper FET tube. Colors look like colors. 1lumen’s August 2024 review (named source, not our test) measured about 975 lm at 30 s against the 1,200 lm claim and liked the regulated mid modes; they also flagged a flat side switch that is easy to miss in the dark. 6,008 cd is a fraction of a Maglite 2D’s 26,139 cd — see Lumens Explained. Cell context: 18650 vs 21700 vs AA.
Weaknesses: 18650 only. If you wanted a gas-station AA tube, this is not it. Turbo is a 90-second burst by design. 1,200 lumens of 519A is a floody general-purpose beam, not a searchlight. One-year-class Wurkkos warranty.
Buy the FC11C from Wurkkos (manufacturer page). Amazon search — confirm the listing says FC11C, not the older FC11:
14500 right-angle: Wurkkos HD10 (not dual-fuel AA)

Still sold under $30: Wurkkos lists the HD10 on wurkkos.com/products/wurkkos-hd10 as of this writing (the title currently says Clearance; it is not a dead listing). Current Wurkkos price: $23.99 (was $49.97). Pocket clip, magnetic tail, headband, USB-C, Anduril 2.0. The EDC job is the clip and the 46 g right-angle in a pocket — full pocket context on Best EDC. It is not dual-fuel AA. Battery options on the spec sheet are 1× 14500 Li-ion only.
Wurkkos: 3× 90 CRI CSP LEDs plus RGB aux, 1,200 lumens, 129 m, 29° TIR, 82.4 mm × 23.5 mm, 46 g, included 14500 900 mAh, USB-C, IP68, magnetic tail, Anduril 2.0. CRI note on the product page: 6000K 90+ / 4000K 95+. (Source: Wurkkos HD10.)
Wurkkos’s HD10 user-manual ANSI/FL1 table (900 mAh 14500): turbo 1,200 lm / 129 m / 4,175 cd / 1.5 h; 0.5 lm / 100 h on the floor. Operating voltage 3.0–4.2 V — that is why AA (1.2–1.5 V) is not in the chart. (Source: Wurkkos HD10 user manual.)
Weaknesses: 14500 only. If you wanted a gas-station AA backup, this is the wrong light. Anduril 2.0 is a gift if you like ramping and aux; it is a support call if you wanted one button and four modes. Turbo 1,200 lm on a 900 mAh cell is a burst. 1lumen’s April 2025 review (named source, not our test) measured 850 lm at 30 s against the 1,200 lm claim and a weak tail magnet — treat the 1,200 as the box number.
Buy the HD10 from Wurkkos (manufacturer page). Amazon search — confirm the listing says HD10, not HD12:
Keychain: Wuben E2 Pulse

This is the $20 keychain, not a glove-box Maglite. Wuben started selling the E2 Pulse on August 24, 2026. Launch price is $19.99 (Wuben shows $29.99 as the later price). Official global launch is August 27, 2026, 8:00 a.m. ET. Spec-based first look only; the scheduled write-up is Wuben E2 Pulse. Pocket context: Best EDC. (Sources: Notebookcheck, Aug 24, 2026; Wuben E2 Pulse product page.)
Wuben’s own FL1 table on that page: main beam High 150–100 lm, 1 min then 30 min; Med 50 lm / 1 h; Low 1 lm / 7 h; 26 m / 169 cd; side white 80 lm / 30 min and 10 lm / 3 h; red beacon and red-blue flash; built-in 120 mAh Li-ion polymer, USB-C, IP66, 1.5 m impact, 10.7 g, 19 × 14.6 × 41.4 mm. Notebookcheck, citing Wuben, also notes a photoluminescent shell, magnetic back, and 150 lm / 85 ft. (Sources: same Wuben page; Notebookcheck.)
150 lumens that lasts a minute is a keychain burst. The useful modes are the 1-lumen flashlight and the 10-lumen marker so you can find your people. It belongs on the keys, not next to an 18650 tube.
Weaknesses: built-in cell — when it dies you charge USB-C or you are done. Three hours at 10 lumens is a short walk, not a campsite. IP66 is rain. Amazon did not have a clean E2 Pulse listing we could verify; do not grab a Wuben E7 or E8 by mistake. We are not inventing an ASIN.

Wearable / clip: Sofirn SE1 PRO

If the job is “clip it, wear it, forget it,” this is the 2026 wearable still on Sofirn’s U.S. store under $30. Sofirn launched the SE1 PRO on August 13, 2026. The U.S. listing is live as of this writing at $23.99 for Green / Dark Cherry. White MAO on that same family is $32.99 — over $30, so it is not a pick here; we are not substituting a different ASIN. That product page also mixes older non-Pro SE1 colorways — confirm the title says SE1 PRO. sofirnlight.com still features the SE1 PRO on the 2026 new-products row. We have not had a sample on the desk. (Sources: Sofirn U.S. store, SE1 PRO; sofirnlight.com; Notebookcheck, Aug 6, 2026.)
Sofirn’s own user-manual table (dated June 2026): white High 300~70 lm, 1 min + 45 min; Medium 60 lm / 1 h 10 min; Low 10 lm / 6 h; Moonlight 1 lm / 23 h; peak 1,225 cd / 70 m; IPX5, 1.5 m impact; 30 × 30 × 14 mm, 21 g / 0.74 oz with the built-in cell. Battery in Table 2 is 140 mAh, USB-C about 35 min at 5 V / 0.23 A. High-CRI 90+ white at 5000K, plus a single-LED RGB channel (620 nm red / 525 nm green / 465 nm blue) and an RGB signal ring. In the box: light, lanyard loop, USB-C cable, pocket clip, wristband, beaded chain. (Sources: Sofirn SE1 PRO user manual; same U.S. store page.)
Notebookcheck, citing Sofirn, is the useful one-liner: 300 lumens for one minute, then 70 lumens; 23 hours lives at 1 lumen. The original SE1’s UV channel is gone on the Pro.
Weaknesses: built-in 140 mAh cell. IPX5 is splash, not a pocket that went through the wash on purpose. 21 g is watch-class weight; the square body is still a lump on a wrist compared with a keychain. Shopify inventory on this listing has been flaky (some SKUs read unavailable) — buy from Sofirn and confirm stock. We are not inventing an Amazon ASIN; do not grab a non-Pro SE1 by mistake.

A simple under-$30 kit
- One 18650 tube with a clip if you want a real cell — FC11C.
- One thing that actually lives on the keys — E2 Pulse.
- Optional: HD10 if you also want a 14500 right-angle that can go on a headband, or SE1 PRO if you want a clip/wrist wearable. Confirm the SE1 listing says PRO, and skip White MAO if you are staying under $30.
Skip the unbranded “10,000 lumen flashlight” listings. If the brand will not publish an ANSI/FL1 table, treat the lumen claim as advertising. More on that: Lumens Explained.
The Maglite ML300LX 2D, Fenix PD36R Pro, Acebeam H18, and the bigger 21700 work lights are over $30. They are the wrong search. Headlamp money that crosses $30 is the HS21 on Best Budget Flashlights. USB-C vs sealed packs: Best Rechargeable Flashlights.
